Damgade kollegiet (DK)

Damgadekollegiet is a well-established student residence in Sønderborg, originally built in 1988/89. It is comprised of seven separate two-story blocks, offering a sense of community while maintaining privacy. Located approximately 2.6 km from the SDU Alsion campus, it is easily reachable within a 9-minute bike ride, making it a practical choice for students who enjoy a short commute. The residence offers 72 units in total, divided into 66 one-room accommodations of 23 m² and 6 one-and-a-half-room units of 30 m². A major advantage of Damgadekollegiet is that every apartment includes its own private kitchen and bathroom. The kitchens are equipped with two cooking plates, an oven, a range hood, and a refrigerator with a freezer. This setup is ideal for students who value independence and prefer cooking for themselves. Each unit also comes with a private outdoor area: ground-floor rooms have a terrace, while first-floor rooms include a balcony. Units are unfurnished but come with lamps and window blinds. Modern connectivity is included in the rent, with high-speed internet access available in all accommodations. The building also maintains a high standard of security with video surveillance in common areas. For laundry, there is a basement facility in Block D with washing machines and dryers, managed through the Airwallet app. Social life is centered around several shared facilities, including a party cellar that can be rented for events, a guest room for visitors, and a common room for daily social interactions.
