Humlehøj (HUK)

Humlehøj-kollegiet, built in 1990/91, is a solid and well-functioning student residence located at Damgade 82 in Sønderborg. The dormitory consists of 84 units distributed across four blocks on two floors, surrounded by green areas. Here you will find a good mix of housing types suited to different needs: 12 one-room units of 23 m², 28 doublet units of 24 m² (where you share a kitchen with one other person), and 16 spacious two-room units of 47 m². All units are generally unfurnished but come equipped with necessary inventory like blinds, lamps, and a functional kitchen with a stove, fridge/freezer, and range hood. A major advantage of Humlehøj is the private outdoor spaces; ground-floor units have a terrace door leading to their own terrace, while 1st-floor units have their own balcony. A data network with internet connection is installed in all residences, and payment for this is included in the rent. Social life at Humlehøj is highly prioritized through an active student council that looks after residents' interests and organizes social activities. Facilities include a party room that can be rented for private events, a guest room for overnight visitors, and a shared kitchen in block A for cooking clubs. For sports enthusiasts, there is a beach volleyball court on-site and table tennis in the common room. There is also a laundry room with three washing machines and dryers, managed via the Airwallet app. Smoking is only allowed outdoors, and pets are not permitted, ensuring a good indoor climate for everyone.
