Prins Henrik Kollegiet, located at Prins Henriks Avenue 10, underwent a full renovation in the spring of 2024. The building serves as a modern dormitory situated in a quiet, green area of Sønderborg. It is specifically positioned to be convenient for students, being only 2.1 km from the SDU Alsion campus and within walking distance of UC Syd and the International School. The dormitory consists of 46 units spread across two floors. Room sizes vary significantly to accommodate different needs: 1-room units range from 18 m² to 25 m², while 2-room units are approximately 30-31 m², and a single 3-room unit offers 39 m². All accommodations are unfurnished, allowing students to personalize their space. Every resident has access to a shared kitchen on their floor, which is equipped with stainless steel countertops, multiple ovens, and induction hobs. While some rooms include a private bathroom, most share facilities with a maximum of three other residents. Each room includes a terrace door and a French balcony. Living at Prins Henrik Kollegiet is designed to be straightforward for international students. The monthly rent is inclusive of heat, electricity, and water consumption, which simplifies budgeting. Facilities include a communal laundry room in the basement, bike parking, and shared lounge areas with comfortable seating. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the building and is only permitted in designated outdoor areas. No pets are allowed on the premises.
