S/I Alssundkollegiet, located at Nørre Havnegade 40, represents one of the most modern student housing options in Sønderborg. Completed in October 2018, this 5-story brick building is perfectly situated on the harbor front, offering residents both scenic views and extreme proximity to the city center. For SDU students, the location is ideal, as the Alsion campus is only a 1.1 km walk or a quick 5-minute bike ride away. The dormitory consists of 153 units, including 1-room, 1.5-room, and 2-room apartments. Every apartment is designed for independent living, featuring a private bathroom with underfloor heating and a fully equipped private kitchen with ceramic hobs, an oven, and a refrigerator/freezer. Room sizes range from approximately 38 m² to 50 m² (gross area). All units come with window blinds and pre-installed lamps, though they remain otherwise unfurnished. High-speed internet is included in the monthly rent. Security and convenience are prioritized, with the building featuring video surveillance, shell security, and an elevator making all floors handicap accessible. Community life is supported by several shared facilities: a ground-floor laundry room with professional machines, a dedicated party room available for rent, and a guest room for visiting family or friends. Outdoors, residents can enjoy a courtyard with an outdoor kitchen and seating, or the shared balcony on the 4th floor.
